a Dog-Gone Good Day at the Penn Township Fall Festival.
Doggy Costume Contest & Parade
Dress-up your canine kid and come to the Fall Festival Main
Stage at 12:30 pm to register for judging at 1:00 pm, then
parade through the Fall Festival grounds to the Dog Park
where a Doggy Festival will take place. Enjoy the new dog
park as well as dog treat stacking, dog agility course, pet
adoption opportunities, dog obedience information, and all

to be used toward the Penn Township Municipal Park Phase 2
Development project which includes new playground equipment,
a new basketball court, new tennis court, new volleyball
court, and handicapped accessibility.
ABOUT FRIENDS OF PTARC
Who Are We? Friends of Penn-Trafford Area Recreation
Commission is a non-profit, tax-exempt Pennsylvania
corporation created to provide funding for community
organizations, including the Penn-Trafford Area Recreation
Commission, to support community projects, recreational
programs and activities, and community development projects.
What Do We Do? Friends of PTARC's goal is to raise
funds to renovate existing parks and recreation facilities
in the Penn-Trafford area and develop new parks and
recreation facilities in the Penn-Trafford area.
In 2011, Friends of PTARC replaced the roof
on the PTARC Shelley Proskin Recreation Center at a cost of
How Can You Help? Friends of PTARC is asking
community-minded organizations and individuals to donate
funds, materials, labor, and/or their time to assist in the
completion of these projects.
Why Should You Help? Parks and recreation
- Places for families to hold birthday parties,
bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, and anniversary celebrations.
- Facilities for parents and caregivers to take
pre-school children for fun activities and early
- Places for after-school activities, club meetings, fitness,
nature, and fun activities
for school-aged children.
- Facilities for life-long learning, fitness, and
wellness activities for adults.
- Places for seniors to gather, socialize,
and participate in activities and exercise.

Got A Buck for the Recreation
If every resident of the Penn-Trafford School District
gave $1, we can raise $26,083 to go toward the renovation of
the PTARC Recreation Center in Level Green. Just add $1 to your
program registration fee.

Gary Proskin donates $25,000 in cash, materials and labor to
name the former library/kindergarten building in Level Green
the “PTARC/Shelley Proskin Recreation Center”.
The upper level of the building which contains a large
multi-purpose room, kitchen, bathrooms, and offices will
open June 12, 2006!
The Ralph Hiller Company donated office
furniture to assist with the initial furnishing of the PTARC
Keystone Premium Floor Coverings donated the installation
of the VCT tile, linoleum flooring, and carpeting in the
upper level of the PTARC Recreation Center.
With the continued support of community-minded businesses
and individuals, the upper level of the PTARC Recreation
Center should be ready to open in June 2006!
