April 10, 2015 - Beer Tasting: Tons of appetizers, delicious desserts, 2-hour open bar, and fun outdoor activities.

Jim Merckle is a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Lifeguarding Instructor. He has been teaching on the PTARC staff for the last 5 years. In 2014, he co-authored, with long-time instructor, Betty Prycl, a small book titled "Learn To Swim An Easy Way," which describes how to teach beginning swimmers.

Jim has taught the Red Cross Learn to Swim Program in Westmorland County for more than 12 years. Jim volunteers teaching special needs children to swim. He enjoys working with the PTARC staff, most of whom, he had some part in training. He looks forward to seeing you at our next pool session.

We asked Penn-Trafford residents to share their parks and recreation memories through photographs of participation in PTARC activities or at any parks and recreation facilities within the Penn-Trafford School District.
