October 17, 2015 - Wine Tasting Extravaganza: Sample award winning wines with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and decadent desserts.

We need your help! Your participation in PTARC is appreciated, but as of December 31, 2015, your Council Representatives have voted to withdraw Manor Municipal Membership from the Penn-Trafford Area Recreation Commission. The cost per resident averages only .72 cents each! PTARC needs your support in order to provide quality programs like the Red Cross Swim Classes, Safe Sitter Certification, Dad & Daughter Night Out, Youth and Teen, Preschool, Senior, and Adult Programs! Please let your Manor Borough Council Representatives know how much you enjoy PTARC classes and programs!

PTARC has provided $126,000 in grant funding for renovations to Manor Parks. If council withdraws from PTARC, residents of Manor would then be required to pay the additional non-resident fee of $8.00 per class, program or event. If you would like to express your support of PTARC, let your local Council Representative know how you feel. Contact them at (724) 864-2422. Letters can be mailed to 44 Race Street, Manor, PA or email Council at

The Trust for Public Land conducted a study on the economic value of city park systems and found that parks can contribute to the value of residential properties immediately adjacent to a park by as much as a 20 percent marginal value!

Penn Township Municipal Park Phase 1 Development
Completed, November 2014:
Provided to you by a PTARC grant award of $265,600 from the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources Community Conservation Partnerships Program and a matching amount from the Township of Penn, Penn Township Recreation, and local community contributors for a total project cost of $450,000!

Phase I

Dog Park: The new dog park has separate small breed and large breed areas. All dogs must display a current license, vaccination tag, and ID tag. Dogs must be under control of an adult 18 years of age or older, and there is a limit of two dogs per handler. Handlers must possess a leash at all times while in the off-leash area, and dogs must be leashed to enter and exit the park. Dog waste must be collected by the handler and placed in the provided receptacles. Food and dog treats are not permitted in the off-leash areas. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We do not recommend that you bring small children or infants into the dog park for safety reasons. Handlers must be present with their dog(s) and keep them under visual and voice control at all times.

Phase IPond Enlargement and Walking Trails: The newly enlarged pond with fish habitat and additional walking trails are now open! The park is open from dawn to dusk. Enjoy!

PTARC has written a grant application to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development Community Financing Authority for the Rehabilitation of Trafford Fairmont Park.
