ABOUT PTARC |

The Penn-Trafford Area Recreation Commission (PTARC) was formed through an intergovernmental agreement between the boroughs of Manor, Penn, and Trafford, Penn Township, and the Penn-Trafford School District, all in Westmoreland County, PA. The mission of PTARC is to provide residents of the Penn-Trafford School District with the opportunity for life-long learning, fitness, and fun through wholesome, affordable recreation activities and safe, appealing facilities. PTARC serves the residents of the communities within the Penn-Trafford School District, including those living within the borders of Manor, Penn and Trafford Boroughs, and Penn Township. All residents of Manor Borough are included. PTARC is a non-profit, PA DCNR-funded organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for citizens of all ages and abilities. The commission is responsible for organizing, supervising, administering, maintaining, and operating a community recreation program for residents of the Penn-Trafford School District. The PTARC's office opened on October 22, 2001. Ms. Cheryl Kemerer is the recreation director. Ms. Lisa Black is the assistant director. PTARC meets on the first Monday of each month at 3:00 p.m. (with the exception of Labor Day) in the PTARC/Shelley Proskin Recreation Center. Meetings are open to the public. All are welcome! Any changes to meeting dates are advertised in the Penn Franklin newspaper.
