The Penn-Trafford Area Recreation Commission (PTARC) was formed through an intergovernmental agreement between the boroughs of Manor, Penn, and Trafford, Penn Township, and the Penn-Trafford School District, all in Westmoreland County, PA.
The mission of PTARC is to provide residents of the Penn-Trafford School District with the opportunity for life-long learning, fitness, and fun through the implementation of wholesome, affordable recreation activities and the development of safe, appealing facilities. PTARC serves the residents of the communities within the Penn-Trafford School District, including those living within the borders of Manor, Penn, and Trafford Boroughs and Penn Township. All residents of Manor Borough are included. Hempfield Area School District residents who live in Manor Borough pay the resident fee.
PTARC is a non-profit, intergovernmental agency committed to enhancing the quality of life for citizens of all ages and abilities. The commission is responsible for organizing, supervising, administering, maintaining, and operating a community recreation program for residents of the Penn-Trafford School District. The PTARC's office opened on October 22, 2001. Ms. Linda Bires is the recreation director.
PTARC meets on the first Monday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Penn-Trafford High School. Meetings are open to the public. All are welcome!
